Ready to Serve Your Needs
Systematic Assessments that Work
As part of the WBT© Foundation's commitment to the community, we coordinate — with the collaboration and input of many organizations and agencies across all of North Texas — a regular and comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Our first CHNA was in 2017 and the current assessment was completed in 2019.
The CHNA is a systematic, data driven approach to determining health status, behaviors and the areas of greatest health need in the local community. It provides information so the health issues of greatest concern can be identified, and resources allocated. Areas of opportunity were determined following the review of national benchmark data, number of residents affected and the potential impact on community health and wellness.
Areas of Opportunity
- Nutrition and Physical Activity
- Blood Interpretation
- Mental Health
- Heart Disease and Stroke
- Substance Abuse
- Access to Healthcare Services
- Tobacco Use
- Sexual Health (specifically teen births)
- Respiratory Diseases
- Injury and Violence
- Kidney Disease
From these 13 areas of opportunity, the WBT© Foundation will identify the significant health issues it will address in 2020-2022 based on two important criteria: 1) Scope and Severity, and 2) Ability for the Hospital to Impact. We will continue to monitor and address our assessments until any changes impact new data.
